The Western Slope can expect a clear, dry and warm/hot holiday weekend.
Courtesy of our next weather maker the ridge of high pressure on the western third of the U.S., high temperatures Sunday afternoon will be slightly above the seasonal average. Except for the smoke/haze, the light breeze, the dry conditions, the mostly clear sky and temperatures in the 80s will be spot on for this time of the year. Storms on Sunday and Monday should be nonexistent in the lower elevations and widespread nothing for the the majority of the state. The focus this weekend will be on the temperatures and the family/friends get-togethers outside. Afternoon temperatures will continue heating up into the middle of next week. Dry and breezy conditions will also remain in the forecast for the middle of next week.
