September 18 Early Morning Forecast

Tonight will be another hazy night across the Western Slope. Our lows will be around their averages in the 50s for the valleys. It will be cooler in the higher elevations with a low of 36 degrees in Gunnison. The smoke and haze should clear up by noon and we will have an increase in cloud cover the further we move through the afternoon hours. Thanks to the smoke leaving the area tomorrow’s high is expect to be slightly warmer than today’s with temperatures in the upper 80s. Expect to have gusty winds tomorrow with wind speeds up to 25 mph. We are just shy of reaching Red Flag Warning levels, but the air is still dry and we will have strong wind.

This weekend a weak cold front will push through the area. Rain chances from this front will be slim, and the best shot for rain from it will be during the nighttime hours. We will have westerly flow after the front moves through. As of now due to the location the High Pressure System behind this front will develop we may even see some rain chances mid next week.
