We will see heavy rain showers all day today over the Western Slope. The heaviest showers will tend to fall closer to the Colorado/Utah border, but we are still expecting more than an half inch or rain closer towards Glenwood Canyon. The strongest storms will form during the early afternoon, and all the rain will cool our highs down significantly. Flood watches have been issued for Eastern Utah, Glenwood Canyon, San Juans, and Umcompagres. Chances for heavy rain showers and thunderstorms will carry into tomorrow with storms clearing up towards the end of the afternoon. We will see calmer weather for Friday and the weekend, but the higher elevations will still see chances for afternoon thunderstorms. Highs will dip into the 70s for today, but we will be back in the 80s for the valleys by the weekend.
