Another Thursday another drought monitor update. There has been no changes for the Western Slope or most of the rest of Colorado for that matter. The was some small improvement as sections of severe drought in Saguache and Alamosa Counties have been reduced to a moderate drought. We are not likely to see improvement over the next week, as we will see clear skies and dry air up until the first week of October. Grand Junction is likely to fall -0.06 inches of rain under the normal for the month of September and Montrose will fall even further behind by almost a half inch. Total yearly rainfall deficit is -2.67 inches for Grand Junction and -4.80 inches for Montrose.
