Sunday August 8, 2021 Forecast First

Hotter temperatures this afternoon along with breezy conditions.

Unfortunately there should still be some lingering smoke/haze. Another low pressure system will pass the state in the northern latitudes and will keep us in the breezy category through the start of next week. Red Flag Warnings could return by Monday as a result.

The zonal pattern (west to east) for a series of low pressure systems to our north will also suppress our high pressure system. A repositioning of that high well to our south will cutoff any monsoonal storms this far to the north for a while. The San Juans may get an abbreviated version of the monsoon late next week. This is still a little too far into the extended forecast, but all signs are suggesting this will be our pattern through next week if it does not drastically change. A hot, dry and sunny pattern as we progress through the beginning of August.
