Weather

Aside from the local wildfires and the possibility of drifting smoke, the sky should remain clear to mostly clear for the extended period. A ridge of high pressure will anchor over our region and keep us very dry and extremely warm. Temperatures are expected to jump significantly for the end of this weekend and all of next week. New temperature records are anticipated and an Excessive Heat Advisory is in place as a result of these hot temperatures.
Please take caution and avoid overexposure during the heat of the day. Never (during any season/anytime/for whatever reason) leave a child or a pet in an unattended vehicle and take action to prevent a child from locking themselves in a car during this heat. This hot stretch of weather will continue through all of next week.

Here are the record temperatures for Grand Junction and Montrose on Sunday and Monday. GJ Sunday- 101 degrees from 2018. Monday 101 degrees from 1936. Montrose Sunday- 97 degrees from 1939. Monday 98 degrees from 1936.
