It’s getting hot out there!
Temperatures are slowly rising for the next several days while the storm chances take a downturn. Storms are not totally eliminated from the forecast. Scattered afternoon thunderstorms are expected to pop up for the next few afternoons over the mountains, mesas and plateaus with slow movement (flood potential) and gusty wind speeds. Valleys/lower elevations should remain dry. During the weekend and over the high country, there will be a storm preference in the Four Corners region/states. High temperatures will be near our averages in the 90s/middle 90s for the valleys. The hottest day is looking to be Sunday with Grand Junction expected to return to the triple digits. Rain chances will build up again by the middle of next week, added cloud coverage and lowered temperatures are on tap.
