We are under a red flag warning until 8 pm Tuesday night and likely again Wednesday due to the increased wind speeds and the very dry conditions. High temperatures will be running around 5 degrees hotter than they should and low temperatures will be running below average up until the middle of the work week. A mostly clear sky is also in the forecast, but smoke and haze will prevail throughout the region. The best storm chance will be in San Juans, but all of the mesas, mountains and plateaus will become the genesis for late day storms through the middle of next week.
Rain deficit for Grand Junction is -2.30″. Rain deficit for Montrose is -3.75″/ Rain totals for the year should be in the 5 & 6″ category.
