Less hot temperatures for the region today as cold front exits the state.
Let’s put temperatures into perspective with the cold front that passed through early this morning. Typical high for this time of the year at Grand Junction is 87° and Montrose is 83°. Highs for the region today should finish about ten degrees cooler than Monday and certainly below the average for this time of the year. Not necessarily cold, but a subtle shift into a new season. This is going to take another 4-6 weeks of these “once a week cold fronts” moving through to get the Western Slope ready for the fall season.
The midweek, we will experience near normal temperatures with clear and dry conditions. The remainder of this week and upcoming weekend transitions back to a hotter than average forecast… until the next cold front by the middle of next week.
