Tuesday September 28, 2021 Forecast First

The Grizzly Creek Burn Scar is under a Flash Flood Watch until 9 pm Tuesday September 28, 2021. This could be upgraded to a Warning and a subsequent Interstate closure Tuesday evening or the Watch could be expanded to continue through Wednesday due to ongoing and incoming showers and thunderstorms.

Rain showers will focus on the central and northern mountain/plateaus Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. The lower elevations of the tri-county area should only see brief storms/rain showers. Gusty wind and small hail will be possible with this activity. Glade Park had snow on someone’s front porch before 5 pm! There is an expected lull after the sun goes down for these locations. Wednesday is holding very good afternoon and evening storm chances moving through the populated areas and for the upper peaks, snowfall is not out of question.

Regardless of the the soggy forecast that could continue through Friday afternoon for some locations, cooler temperatures will be here through the end of this week and into the weekend.
