Rain showers in the valleys did not pan out too much yesterday, but we did see nearly a half inch of rain over Aspen. We will see a break of shower activity for the morning hours, but scattered storms will move back in later this afternoon. The highest rain chances for the day will be between 2 and 4pm this afternoon. With the rain in the forecast highs will be on the cool side in the 80s for the Grand Valley. Chances for showers will continue for the evening hours, and we will dry up overnight. Rain chances will cut back for Wednesday afternoon, but lingering moisture will still fuel scattered storms for the afternoon. Thursday will be the driest day of the week by far. Thanks to drier conditions Grand Junction will return to the 90s for the middle of the week. More monsoon moisture will move in from the southwest on Friday causing chances for afternoon storms to return for the end of the work week, and the weekend.
