We will see another clear and dry start to the day on the Western Slope. Skies will stay nice and sunny for the morning hours, but partly cloudy skies will move in over the higher elevations this afternoon. Like Monday and Tuesday today will be pretty dry. There will be low chances for one or two brief afternoon showers over over the mountain tops, but we will be completely dry in the valleys. With the dry conditions highs will be a few degrees warmer than yesterday leaving Grand Junction with a high in the mid 90s. Southwesterly monsoon winds will return for tomorrow and Friday. These winds will refuel moisture over the Western Slope leading to chances for afternoon and evening thunderstorms to close out the week. On Thursday and Friday we will see some heavier showers form over burn scars leaving to potential flood watches. Rain chances in the lower valleys are still on the lower end, but we will have higher chances for rain in Montrose than Grand Junction. We will start to dry up as we move through this weekend.
