The countdown to a few rounds of unsettled weather is on!

The mountain zones look like they could be getting natural snow Monday through Wednesday with the possibility of a stronger storm system arriving later next week/weekend. A cold front will swing through the region Tuesday and colder afternoons are on tap thereafter. The wind speed should also pick up ahead of this system, so Monday could be a breezy during the afternoon. Regardless of this timeline, it is subject to change, the lower valleys of Delta, Montrose and Mesa counties look to get some measurable rain and then a rain/snow mix Tuesday. In a more progressive forecast, the Storm Team is expecting light snow flurries and or accumulations at these lower elevations along with a Winter Weather Advisory for area mountains and the possibility of a Winter Storm Warning for the second weekend of December. Let’s keep watching for these developments together because this would be a significant pattern shift!
