Totally different weather pattern for the next 7 days!

Heading through the beginning of August, our weather pattern has a high pressure system to the west that will choke off the subtropical monsoon tap. This new pattern will lead to fewer storms/fewer damaging storms across the Western Slope. Therefore, the rest of this week will have clearer, warmer and drier conditions compared to the last few weeks. There will still be some lingering humidity taxing our bodies and cooling systems, but this muggy feeling will eventually depart the region as drier air gets infused from the northwest over the next several days. However, this will still lend itself to a few mountain zones firing off a few late day storms. Nothing severe or widespread is anticipated with these storms. This calmer pattern will continue throughout this upcoming weekend, but there are signals that the North American Monsoon pattern could return late next week.
