GRAND JUNCTION , Colo. (KREX) — “Very humbling, very unexpected.” said Chief Medical Officer of Community Hospital , Dr. Thomas Tobin.

Dr. Thomas Tobin’s thoughts after the American Academy of Emergency Medicine honored him with a national award.

“I don’t think there’s a better accolade than your peers recognizing your efforts and accomplishments.” Dr. Tobin echoed.

But Dr. Tobin of Community Hospital’s response is humble. He says he doesn’t see himself as just an administrator while working.

Dr. Tobin voiced, “I kind of view myself as a servant of health care.”

A servant, and selfless leader who dedicates his award to his team.

“I have a great team around me. This is about more of what they’ve been able to do.” Dr. Tobin admitted.

Dr. Tobin and his staff have accomplished amazing things in our community. Which is why this year community hospital earned some of the highest credentials a hospital can attain.

Dr. Tobin stated, “We were able to get our 5-star CMS award. We got our leapfrog A certification.”

For Dr. Tobin and Community Hospital, the goal is simple. Keep elevating.

“We’re going to continue to excel. We’re going to continue to push ourselves to the next level of taking better, and better care of our patients.” Dr. Tobin uttered.

His award, just one reflection of how Dr. Tobin is serving his hospital, patients and community.
